Exo-CTO
From aspiration to concept to product.
The work is to familiarize yourself with technology, beyond Google search and AI prompts, empowering you to make better tech decisions.
And that's what Exo-CTO is, an introduction to the world beyond computational basics.
For those who aspire to be digital nomads or content creators, and for those who just want a better sense of what's possible, these are the foundational tools of digital trades.
The terminal, Audacity, GIMP (Graphic Image Manipulation Program), Blender and OBS.
Computer, Audio, Image, Video manipulation, along with live-streaming capabilities, all using free and open-source programs – all you need is a computer.
The key is to learn how to use them.
Exo-CTO Bootcamp ($1250)
An eight-week 1:1 bootcamp in which we cover everything you need to know to create your social media content independently using free, quality, open-source software.
The output is you having your primary product(s) in hand, along with the tools and know-how to continue creating them, autonomously and independently in control of all-aspects of executing your vision, from ebooks to movies and podcasts, and everything digital in-between.
In the first week we answer our questions in order to begin conceptualizing possible products; this includes an introduction to the terminal and web-development as well. It is good to learn how the world of web domains, servers and applications work on a structural level; not in-depth, but enough to be conversational and aware.
In the second week you begin making content, building your digital skill sets and supply chain. We'll provide implementation focused overviews of Blender for video editing and GIMP for image editing.
All of this is designed to enable you to create your own content from concept to publication, independently using Windows, Apple or Linux.
By the third week you will finalize your initial product and its supply chain, defining what it will take to create your product. Together we will define the steps, and the tools required to produce and publish your content; then you will create a prototype.
We'll also cover Audacity for audio editing.
In the fourth week we review all that we've already covered; you will also be introduced to OBS for recording and live streaming. By this time you will be creating content using the co-created supply chain and starting to publish your content as well. There will be space for additional questions and personalized deep-dives into useful tools along your road map.
Week five thru eight are for open questions and directional details; we'll connect at least twice per week. This is your time to encounter problems and have direct support to troubleshoot their solutions.

A more in-depth overview of the aforementioned programs.
This boot camp is geared towards Apple users, I cannot condone the use of Windows for personal or small business use; if you don't want to use Apple, I agree, and use Linux myself. And if that is a transition you are interested in making, I am happy to help; schedule a curiosity call right!

Why this work
I love helping people, and I have the technical aptitude along with the communication skills to do so at a level of extraordinary excellence in service to wonderful people.
Feels like a win-win to me.
I am also building my own projects, and it's a lift while you climb / best-way-to-learn-is-to-teach-what-you-think-you-know type of deal.
Though as I recently told a client, the idea is to create something external from yourself, that's what a product is ... neither an individual, nor an identity can be a product, a product is separate from the creator, and even the owner; while the owner may retain control, the product remains something external, instrument to accomplish a goal.
The Exo-CTO bootcamp is the distillation of what an external product would be in this case, learn these specific skills ( the terminal (or command-line-interface), Audacity, Blender, GIMP, and OBS.) Learn about the necessary specifics of the web-development process and internet structure to be able to make informed decisions about how you want to deploy your digital presence, content and products.
Yes, I want to do this work, and I have something to offer that can be examined and defined; not anything abstract.
Together we answer the later-mentioned questions, define a product, discuss the go-to-market strategy, and initiate initial deployment.
That's the output of the bootcamp, your product, your plan, and practice executing it.
While you retain the skills and programs required to continue creating your content; the experience alone will yield the most dividends when working with other media specialists to create content as you grow. You'll be able to better understand and speak their language.
These days in order to be "successful", it seems one needs to have a social media presence; but in order to maintain any such thing, one needs to be a 360-media-production machine.
With all of the latest gizmos, and AI applications designed to supposedly help in the creation of these things ... there remain time-tested tools to have complete control over the creation of one's media.
And I believe this method, and these skills have value.
I'm not anti-AI, I went to school for statistics, and so I don't see it in the same way the media often portrays it; and I find great joy in creating my own media, using these professional-grade open-source tools.
If that sounds like a fun and beneficial skill to have ... this bootcamp is the place to start!
You can check-out the booklet linked below for a more in-depth, yet still shallow overview of the Exo-CTO Bootcamp content.

Skill Set
I've built web applications, I'm building one in-fact.
I use Python, JavaScript and Linux primarily; I'm a nerd, and this is where music plays the role of exercise in my life.
Strategy is poetree and composition to me; my academic studies brought together Economics, Statistics and Communications – along with Sociology, Psychology and Anthropology, with a solid side of Eastern Philosophy. I started as a Creative Writing major.
Everything done needs to have a rhyme and reason, and if it doesn't; there will be a rhyme and reason, and you'll need to find them and be honest about them ...
I am not all about the woo-woo, I am about the numbers and the science ...
While holding space for divinity and wonder.
As well, I am a writer, a poet and musician by love and lore; from this place my conversation, vocabulary and energy are intertwined with contemporary and ancient sciences.
While I was there when one could SMS a tweet, and I used Netscape Navigator – I recorded songs onto tapes from the radio as well; I too have observed the evolution of technology and business ... I served a stint as a journalist, and have recently returned to the realm.
I bring this depth of perspective, curiosity and well-rounded competency, into your world.
The full-package, as they says.

Simplicity begets elegance yielding resilience.
What does that mean ..?
When something is simple to explain, and simple to comprehend, it becomes easy to convey ... it is easier to share simple ideas, they are like seeds, containing complexity reduced to something accessible, one can hold in their hand; or maybe even grow into something of their own.
When something simple breaks, there are less parts to inspect for repair.
Your simple form is able to adapt, is able to grow ... because the core remains simple and accessible, specifically for you – that is where it all begins.
And in this process, by adhering to the simple principle of simplicity, complexity gradually becomes more accessible, and this is where elegance is able to flourish and resilience becomes built-in to fabric of creation.
Simplicity begets elegance yielding resilience.
Zero to One
Together we find answers to the following questions:
- What do you want?
- What is your primary product?
- What is your reason?
One to Two
Then we do the following:
- Build your product.
- Distribute your product.
- Evolve your offerings.
Creating systems that are easy to understand, simple to adjust and productive in all aspects of their implementation and output.
Simplicity begets elegance yielding resilience.
Your primary product
We talk about it a bit later, in saying that the primary product needs to be something external from you – it cannot be one-hour consulting or anything of the sort.
Though it's worth noting that it also needs to be available for free — your first product is your first piece of consistent media content.
Because that's where it all begins.
What do you have to offer, and what can your audience expect; your primary product definitively answers that.
