A DigiSnaxx Primer

What about it?

RIP City Pages; because that really was the last publication with a coherent collection of events.

Though also now, we must remember the Metro IBA, the Metro Independent Business Alliance. It surprises me that so few people even knew about the project, tbh; and saddens me. (More info here.)

Nonetheless, DigiSnaxx aims to carry on the mantel for both; by providing a safe collaborative space for local business owners, as well as a functional, sustainable and useful application to transparently serve the community.

DigiSnaxx does events; and only those about seven days out.

And that's it for now.

Yup, I seek to fund the operation with advertising; but there's a catch, I'm not trying to pay myself. In fact, I'm not trying to build this as a mainstay of my personal income.

The aim of this project is to be an economic creation engine.

Just like the MetroIBA, there is a tiered membership system. All memberships include, at least, one ad space that you can update every 30 days, for the first year. Eventually you will be able to update your ads as often as you would like.

Additionally, each month we will host an in-person event; and likely with live music.

Where is the money going?

I built DigiSnaxx, and it is actually the evolution of a project that started nearly 20 years ago; when my child was born.

You membership dues will pay for continual tech updates and growth.

I am still in the process of developing your individual accounts, and that is why, for now, you are only able to change your ads every 30 days.

Phase 1 is to finalize the foundation for the technology being used. This will provide you with individual accounts by which you can update your ad placements as often as you like, while also allowing for users to have individual accounts, so as to consistently view events within their scope of interest.

Phase 2 is to begin local coding classes to on-board people to maintaining the platform for their own locality.

Phase 3 is the last step.

Who are you?

I am the product of human trafficking, tbh; it is a long story, though I now work at the University as an Application Developer.

My goal in life is actually to go back home, but my dream in life is for my child to have a safe, healthy and sustainable planet.

I'm not a business major, I'm an econ major who started as a creative writing major.

That's why I am able to build in this way.

MetroIBA

We all know about the Chamber of Commerce, and some of us have heard of the Main Street Collective, I think it is called. But Main Street is more of a nationally collaborative movement.

The MetroIBA was specifically focused on municipal and state legislation that affected local businesses.

They had a tiered membership system, and a yearly directory that they published.

You can learn more about them here.
