The Letter to [redacted]

With all that is happening, I feel called to say something; because so often we want to blame "conservatives" or "Republicans", etc ...

Alex McMickey is a white supremacist; and the example is simple.

I did not feel comfortable meeting with Alex for our weekly 1:1 the same week after I had just gotten back from a trip to Colombia where I had just seen my mom and sister and grandmother for the once per year holiday meal at the farm; and my return flight had been delayed, which Alex was going to make it all my fault.

Alex demanded that I attend, and [redacted] supported this demand; regardless, I did not feel comfortable with Alex at that time (for good reason), and I did not attend. And I at least told Alex as much, that I simply wasn't comfortable.

The next week Alex dodged our 1:1 himself; and the only reason there was any notice about it, is because I reminded him of our 1:1 the day of -- I asked if he wanted me to reschedule, and he said he would do so ... he never did.

That is a double-standard, and white supremacy is what allows Alex's excuses to be acceptable, while mine were not; or why I got laid-off and Alex maybe got a slap on the wrist ... or a stern word ... maybe, but not likely ... white power!

The next week when Alex and I met, I wanted to talk about concerns I had with how Alex was treating me; I confirmed with Phaedrus that upon receiving my degree, I was to be a shoe-in for a promotion. Alex didn't want to talk about what I wanted to talk about during my 1:1 with him ... oh yea, that's what he told me, "Your perspective doesn't matter."

That's what Alex said to me, exact words – jaja ... I really struggled not to laugh when he said it, because those are truly demonic things to say to ... this is a reflection of [redacted] as a whole, and what/who you all tolerate.

I won't even get into the fact that the [redacted] re-design was basically project managed by me, while Alex played grown-up with Google Docs and AI.

A few weeks later, I was "laid-off". And a few weeks after that, I was contacted by [redacted] lawyers who suspected I might have been a victim of racial discrimination; I already knew that was the case, but I digress.

The lawyer had been told by Alex, that when I refused to brush his behavior under the rug, I was likely "having an episode." Which I compare to how a woman might be called hysterical for not allowing a known rapist to hug her.

The fact that Alex felt entitled to make such an allegation, with the reasonable expectation that other white people, and their tokens ([redacted] ), would buy it ... is exactly how white supremacy works.

And yes, it is on that level. I did not pursue legal recourse because, that is simply another stress that I did not want to have to bear, more emotional labor ... and for what? Get a lawyer and sue y'all?

Though again, this is how the institution of white supremacy works ... "if you really had an issue, you should have pursued the channels you had available to you."

([redacted] is a white supremacist too, but that's another conversation.)

Alex's behavior is an example of how white progressives are actually white supremacists (another example would be Amy Klobuchar voting for Trump's cabinet picks, or Ken Martin blocking a resolution to call out Israel.)

When I was told that I was being laid-off, both [redacted] and [redacted] were surprised at how well I took it – my hatred for people like Alex (and [redacted] ) is deep, his type of behavior is well-known to me.

([redacted]'s friend was murdered for engaging in sex tourism here in Medellin, but in the US the guy was portrayed as an activist, and they solicited your sympathy ... for the consequences of their friend's disgusting predilections ... again, this is a great example of how you don't have to be white to uphold white supremacy!)

The reason I'm writing this is because I reached out to two people for recommendations ... one of whom replied; the other individual did not reply, this person also told me that, regarding Alex's behavior, I was supposed to assume positive intent.

So when you ask yourself, why are these things happening in the US, or in Minnesota ... you need look no further than the people you empower and refuse to hold accountable, such as Alex McMickey.

As I said to [redacted] , without the opportunity you all provided me, I may never have escaped a life that was very literally supposed to kill me ... And so I send these words, rather than hold resentment, or fail to avail those for whom it may concern.

As for the sake of the planet, the future, and our children ... please find the ability to be better.

Thank you

If you'd like more information on how I might have come to such conclusions, I suggest checking out ManifestingEmpathy.com.

(Basically - Alex is the product of a broken home, with little to no communal value outside of his job; ergo his need to be viewed as an "alpha" in this regard ... and therefore, I was to play to role of his lapdog; and when he realized that that wasn't going to happen ... Google "pet to threat theory".

But again, as I said to [redacted] , white people will always be humanized and excused, and non-white people will always be dehumanized, and dismissed, under white supremacy ... nonetheless, I urge you all to find the fortitude to hold the people you empower accountable, or dis-empower them.

For the sake of us all.)

peaces,

c.
