DigiSnaxx & The DBC

DigiSnaxx and the DigiSnaxx Business Community is a model of what is possible; accessing the labor optimization of technology to accelerate the innovative capacity of the human imagination in service of local economies.

On the surface, DigiSnaxx is an events calendar; a content aggregator, at it's core.

It is built on the Python computer language, and utilizes web scrapers to get the events listed.

This being a relatively low-cost operation, once the initial scrapers are written.

Which they are, and so now the fun can be had 😸

My game is to stay transparent; I work as a web developer at the University of Minnesota, and thankfully this pays my bills. Proceeds from this work will be reinvested back into this work, an example of which is outlined below.

Advertising

DigiSnaxx provides a simple product that works as expected, and we aren't trying to sell our users anything other than simplicity and accessibility.

Which is why users return to our products; usability and transparency.

Trust is the treasure beyond attention; and this is what we cultivate.

Every six events, there is an advertisement, or what we are calling a promotion.

Though this is also just the beginning.

Ad Categories

We will not be advertising for anyone willing to pay our bargain-basement prices ...

Our focus is on local food, local retail, local job opportunities and global research papers.

Yup, you heard me correct, we're going to mix advertisements with research papers and job opportunities.

And this is all packaged in our yearly membership subscriptions, starting as low as $90 / year.

There is definitely room for improvement, both in the aesthetics and the usability; though not only is the idea good, but it is sustainable.

Some of the scrapers were originally written over 10 years ago.

While we definitely have ideas for improvement and evolution.

I'll continue to update this page with these ideas, as this is a solid start to explaining the aspirations at the heart of DigiSnaxx.

DBC Subscriptions

All DBC subscriptions include a directory listing, along with Classified; what varies are the number of Classifieds, and whether a Promo is included.

DBC-Nano includes a Directory Listing, as well as a Classified.

DBC-Micro includes a Directory Listing and two Classifieds.

Tier I includes a Directory Listing, a Promo and a Classified; or a Directory Listing plus three Classifieds.

Tier II includes all of the above, plus two additional Classified.

Tier III includes two Promos and four Classifieds; and is the full-price DBC Subscription.

Marketing Plan

I'm going to ride the Light Rail and pass out stickers and flyers.

Then I'll use some of y'all's money to get digital space elsewhere; I'll report back to y'all about the process, and we can explore all of these opportunities together.

DigiSnaxx, along with our other DreamFreely products, are like the ice-breakers, providing a stable, known product that can help illuminate digital advertising spaces and best practices.
