DigiSnaxx & the DBC
And I'm building them out; the idea is to have four styles of ads:
- Event Posters
- Job Postings
- Research Papers in Layperson terms
- Survey Questions
Though I'm considering adding local food and retail as well; though really wanting to limit who.
Why?
Because I can.
DigiSnaxx is my idea; in reality, it's my experiment.
If you'd like to participate further, you'll need to join the blog, which will give you access to the Discord.
But yea, that's the more information I've got for now; sorry it isn't much - though I wanted to get something at least 😄
Gracias - chao

So the Metro IBA has closed ... DigiSnaxx is lookin' to evolve that idea.
Membership gets your business ad space on DigiSnaxx, access to bi-monthly community meetings, monthly updates and a Discord community.
Pricing is on a sliding-scale:
- $250 for small businesses
- $550 for medium businesses
- $950 for large businesses
While each tier gets progressively one-more complimentary advertisement; large businesses can have up-to three advertisements running, without any additional cost!
- Advertise your business
- Advertise an event you're sponsoring
- Advertise a job opening
Update your Ad every 30 days at no additional cost.
What will be done with the money?
The core infrastructure of the application is built, and functional; using a robust and scale-able framework (SQL, Django, VueJS).
I am not trying to make any money off of this endeavor, rather my aim is to employ others to do the technical work; I simply coordinate and supervise. That said, a portion of the money will actually go into advertising the platform on other social media channels. More on this later.
In no particular order, what follows are the current technical priorities:
- Adding more scrapers
- Building test coverage
- Advert Tracking
- Org / User Accounts
- Ad-Chooser
The first priority is to create Organizational Accounts for you all to manage your advertisements. A corollary of this is to create User accounts, which I'd like to start prototyping.
The next priority is to build solid test coverage for the web-scrapers and improve their efficiency, while adding more scrapers.
Adjacent to this is the need to track how often adverts are displayed; I have an idea of how to do this to start, which is a place to start 😄.
And lastly is the Ad-Chooser, which ... I'm going to keep secret for the moment, as my little surprise.
Though on that note, I'd like to talk about the Marquee at the top of DigiSnaxx; it may seem it bit juvenile, or silly to some people ... though I'd like for a moment, for you to imagine ...
A young could-be patron is wondering what to do, and perusing DigiSnaxx; when they go to change the filters, and they see a phrase pass across the top, "Fantastic Opportunity @ Awesome Place!"
They just need to screenshot the scrolling marquee, with the time-stamp above, and get to your store before the opportunity expires.
And that is one way to bridge digital and local business, real-time and in a meaningful way. Just one of the many experiments we can try as we work together to create an evermore vibrant and thriving local business ecosystem.
I'm not a business major, I'm an econ/stats major ... my goal isn't to be rich, my goal is to live in a healthy and safe community.
Economic safety for all, is core to that.
